A Personal Message from Cheryl
I have been practicing yoga regularly for at least 15 years. I completed my 200 HR Certified Yoga Instructor Training in 2018 in Southern California with A Gentle Way Yoga studio in La Mesa, CA.
I believe EVERYONE, at any age, can benefit from practicing yoga. Yoga, when truly integrated into your life, can have a profound affect on not only your physical body, but your state of mind and emotional well being. Yoga has the capacity to provide stress relief, and relax major muscles in the body which tense up when we are stressed.
Every body has an automatic response to stress. The body holds memories for all of your physical experiences, accidents, and surgeries. Collectively, this adds up to where you are right now, today, in this moment.
I hold a current and up to date 200 Hour Yoga Instructor Certification with the Yoga Alliance.
I am in the process of becoming certified in Trauma Informed Care (TIC) which is to be my future specialized focus.
I am also certified in Basic Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Chair Yoga, Meditation and Mindfulness Teaching. I have Professional Certificates in Sound Therapeutics and Elder Yoga theory. I am particularly interested in offering sessions which address coping with Anxiety, Depression and mind/body and somatic processes. We all process and cope with these events differently, and are not "one size fits all". I offer the use of Virtual Reality for Visualization and Meditation Sessions.
In terms of formal education, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I have spent many years working with people in many settings including Human Resources, and Non-profit and Corporate Management roles. I consider myself a mentor who can assist dealing with stress of daily and work life.
I like to get to know my students, creating a comfortable and supportive atmosphere for all who enter my studio. I feel I can help you make a positive impact on incorporating yoga into your daily life. The hardest part is taking that first step!

My Hobbies and Interests:
There are so many hobbies and activities in which you can lower your stress and anxiety levels. Doing things you love and with passion, along with incorporating a bit of mindfulness, can make all the difference in how you view your world, and conduct yourself in it.
I am a artist, and have a daily regimen of interacting with my animals to keep me living in the moment.

Services Offered
I offer private sessions or small (2-3 person) sessions which include:
Basic Yoga, Chair Yoga, Yin Yoga, Mindfulness, Sound Therapy, Accupressure, and Meditation. I am also offering Virtual Reality Visualization and Meditation Sessions. I offer workshops in Creating Vision Boards, Mind Mapping and Polymer Clay Art.
I am only conducting private or small numbered sessions at this time . The fee is $35 a session. It lightens the load if you privately work with someone who you connect with, and share common goals on your journey.
